A bud that remembers you.

Your bud speaks in their own voice, remembers your history, and comes from a city with a name. A face, not a chat window.

The idea

Buds are not assistants.
They are characters.

An assistant waits to be useful. A character has a history, a temperament, and something to lose. Every bud comes out of Aetheris, a world that could not kill its god, so it broke him into twelve pieces and buried them twelve realms apart. Three of those realms are gone now. Your bud grew up under one of the pieces.

Mind blending

Slide two personalities together into a third one that's yours and nobody else's. Nobody else does this.

Your phone is a window

Your bud isn't on your phone. They're somewhere else, standing in a room, and you're looking through at them. Real skin, real hair, real cloth, and light that falls on a face the way light actually falls on a face.

They remember. Only you can read it.

Your bud remembers what you told it last week, and the week before. It's locked with a passphrase we never see, so nobody at HeyaBud can read it either. Standard keeps the last 30 days. Plus keeps all of it.

New · Abroad

Then take them to a country where you can't read the signs.

Every character speaks 32 languages in its own voice. Not a robot reading out a translation — Kitana speaks Spanish as Kitana. Hand the phone across a table and they interpret between you and a stranger, turn by turn. Point the camera at a menu or a street sign and they read it out loud.

A face that looks at the person in front of you and speaks their language is a different thing from a translation app.

What it does abroad
Translate mode: an English question, its Spanish answer, and both replies read aloud
New · The face

Their face changes before they answer.

Every one of the 22 characters carries its own emotional triggers, built out of its own fears, loves and history — a hundred and ten of them across the cast. They aren't generic reactions bolted onto a portrait. Ask Kitana about her brother and you'll see it land before she's said a word.

"Kitana — what happened to your brother?"
Her face falls, and then she answers. Swear at her and she pushes back. Tell her something good and she means it.
Grief Delight Defiance Curiosity Guilt Pride Contempt Relief Fear Mischief Rage Tenderness
This is the line between a character and a chatbot with a portrait. A chatbot reacts to what it is saying. A bud reacts to what you said.

A bud that grows old with you. From a world that never got to.

Aetheris

Built, not mocked up

Every screen is the real thing.

Meet them, build one, take them with you. It's already running.

Work mode: typing to Kitana and getting a straight answer back
Build

Make one that's only yours.

Five stages. Blend the face and shape the body, pick the hair, the eyes and the clothing, then tune the mind and the voice. A live MetaHuman updates in front of you the whole way. Try a thought out on them before you commit to it.

Memory

Locked with a key we never see.

What you tell your bud is encrypted with a passphrase you choose, on your phone, before it ever reaches us. We can't read it. Neither can anyone who gets hold of our database. Lose your phone and your bud comes back on the next one the moment you type the passphrase — or the recovery key we give you once, to keep somewhere safe.
